Skhillz Academy, LLC
Children’s Privacy Notice
Effective September 16, 2026
Effective Date: September 16, 2026 Operator: Skhillz Academy, LLC
This Notice is specifically for parents and legal guardians of children under 13 who use Skhillz Script™. It supplements the Skhillz Script™ Privacy Policy.
1. Why You Are Receiving This Notice
Skhillz Script™ is an online cursive-writing learning and practice service designed for children.
Before any information is collected about a child under 13, the adult account holder must confirm they are the child's parent or legal guardian and consent to the collection described in this Notice. That consent is recorded, and a child profile cannot be created without it.
This Notice explains the information we intend to collect from your child and asks for your authorization where required.
2. Information We May Collect From Your Child
Depending on the features enabled for the account, we may collect:
- learner first name, nickname, or account identifier;
- age or grade level, if you choose to give them;
- cursive lessons and letters accessed;
- accuracy and progress measurements derived from handwriting practice, calculated on your child's own device;
- practice attempts;
- accuracy or match scores;
- progress and completion information;
- assignments or achievements;
- dates and times of learning activity;
- device/session identifiers required for login, security, or internal operations.
We do not require your child to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in the learning activities.
3. How We Use Your Child’s Information
We use your child’s information to:
- provide cursive lessons;
- allow handwriting practice;
- evaluate or score practice where enabled;
- save progress;
- display progress to the authorized parent, teacher, or educator;
- recommend or organize further practice;
- maintain security;
- operate and support the Service.
We do not use your child’s personal information for targeted advertising.
4. Handwriting Information
When your child writes, the handwriting is scored on their own device. We receive only the resulting measurements: which letter was practiced, how closely the attempt followed the correct stroke, and when.
We never receive or store an image, recording, or reconstruction of your child's handwriting.
We use those measurements to provide practice, scoring, feedback, progress tracking, and related educational functions.
We do not use a child’s handwriting to create a biometric identity profile or to authenticate the child’s identity.
5. Service Providers
We may allow carefully selected service providers to process limited child information where reasonably necessary to operate Skhillz Script™, such as providers of cloud hosting, authentication, secure data storage, security, service infrastructure, or technical operations.
They may process information only for authorized service purposes.
We do not allow service providers to use child information for their own behavioral advertising or unrelated marketing.
Skhillz Academy, LLC also keeps its own administrative records of accounts and subscriptions, including in the staff administration area of the Skhillz Success Portal™, which it operates. Those records hold account information about you: the name on the account, your email address, your plan and its dates, and how many children the plan covers as a number.
They hold nothing about your child’s work. Your child’s name, practice, attempts, scores, handwriting, and login code are not placed in them.
6. Third-Party Disclosures and Separate Consent
If Skhillz Academy proposes to disclose a child’s personal information to a third party for a purpose that is not integral to providing Skhillz Script™, and separate parental consent is required, we will request separate verifiable parental consent before that disclosure.
A parent may consent to the collection and internal use of the child’s information without consenting to a non-integral third-party disclosure where applicable.
7. How Long We Keep Child Information
Child profile, practice, and progress information is kept while the learner profile or account is active and only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service.
After a verified deletion request or applicable account termination:
- active-system child data is ordinarily deleted or de-identified within 90 days;
- encrypted backup copies may remain for up to 180 days before normal overwrite;
- backups are not used for ordinary business activity.
We may retain limited records necessary to document parental consent, deletion, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or security.
We do not retain children’s personal information indefinitely for speculative future uses.
8. Your Rights as a Parent
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we have collected from your child;
- allow you to review the information;
- correct inaccurate information where appropriate;
- delete your child’s personal information;
- stop further collection or use;
- withdraw your consent.
If you withdraw consent, we may need to disable or delete the child profile because some information is necessary for the educational service to function.
9. How to Exercise Your Rights
Contact:
Skhillz Academy, LLC 1317 Edgewater Dr., Suite 458 Orlando, Florida 32804 Email: privacy@skhillzacademy.org
We will take reasonable steps to verify that the requester is the child’s parent or legal guardian before providing or deleting child information.
10. Parental Consent
By completing the Skhillz Script™ parental consent process, you authorize Skhillz Academy to collect, use, and maintain your child’s personal information as described in this Notice and the Privacy Policy.
Consent is not required for a disclosure to a third party for a non-integral purpose unless you separately authorize that disclosure where required.
You may withdraw consent later by contacting privacy@skhillzacademy.org.
11. School Use
If your child uses Skhillz Script™ through a school, a school may in limited circumstances be legally permitted to provide authorization for collection on the parent’s behalf when the use is solely for the school’s educational purpose.
Information collected under school authorization will not be used for unrelated commercial marketing.
Parents may contact the school or privacy@skhillzacademy.org for information about the applicable process.
